A football community in Zürich before it is anything else. Every Sunday at 11:45 a group of us meets at Sportzentrum Heerenschürli and plays — friends, friends of friends, and whoever turned up for the first time that morning. There is a competitive side as well, but the Sunday game is the club.

No. There are parties, barbecues, and cultural nights — film screenings and concerts among them. Whatever is coming up is announced on the club's Instagram, which is the best place to see what the last one looked like.

Sportzentrum Heerenschürli, in Zürich. Every Sunday, 11:45. Be there 11:30. Kick-off is 11:45, exactly — arriving after it counts as a no-show.

Ask to play — sign in with Google, give your full name, and a member lets you in. Then come along on a Sunday; you pay per play. The WhatsApp community is where the week's game gets sorted, so join that too.

Request membership on the site and the members vote you in — or message the club on Instagram and ask in the WhatsApp group, which comes to the same people. Membership is 60 CHF a year, the year runs from September, and you can join at any point in it.

Can I play for the competitive side?

Yes, but only by qualifying for the first team — either through try-outs, or by outplaying everyone else on a Sunday. The competitive side is the one that plays in the Swiss Kicks League.
